I love Walk The Moon, but my favorite songs by them are Next In Line, Fixin’, and Quesadilla, which are all about being in love. And then they make me think happy thoughts about you when in reality, I have no desire to be with you. I just want that house. I want that car. I want spaces where I can escape from my normal life into what I thought the real world was, where money is the only real problem (as opposed to money, grades, internships, family, and being responsible for other people). That’s what I loved. Escape. Just like in Glasgow. Maybe the best therapy is to runaway again, but this time without disguising it as “true love”. I’ll call it what it is. Wanderlust.

I totally forgot how much this song meant to me. It came out at a time when I was pretty much already over my relationship, so as much as I loved it, it wasn’t 100% applicable. Now it’s like a welcome reminder of how much I’m capable of overcoming. I missed my anthem.
